Qualifications & Experience

I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Applied Social Sciences and a Masters of Science Degree (MSc) in Psychology. I have undertaken extensive continuing professional development courses (CPD) in a vast range of therapy and allied topics.

I am qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist (Certified Transactional Analyst - CTA).

I have been working in public and private sectors of Mental Health for over 18 years now, gaining practical knowledge and skills in supporting people with a range of life difficulties, i.e. relationship problems, anxiety, stress, confidence and low self-esteem, grief, alcohol and drug misuse, suicide and self-harm, sexual abuse.

I have experience of working as a counsellor with Edinburgh Women’s Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre and with PF Counselling Service in Edinburgh.

I have professional indemnity insurance provided by Psychologists Protection Society and undergo regular supervision with a fully qualified supervisor. I practice in the UK and I abide by UK legislation. At my work I adhere to the UKCP Ethical Framework and Code of Professional Conduct. The Council is ready to confirm my membership.
